Cooking at home is so much fun – and yes time consuming – but you can learn hundreds of tricks to speed things up. Here’s a speedy trick when you’re recipe calls for fresh garlic. You have to get those tightly packed cloves off the bulb right? Sometimes this takes a while if you’re tugging, pulling and separating them by hand. Instead, just pop the bulb in a plastic baggie, lay it on the counter, and with the palm of your hand give it a whack. Not a gentle, light, whack, but a fast, and firm pound. Yes, the family might come running to see what you have just broken or dropped, but tell them you were just mad at the garlic (haha).
