According to Feeding America, an average of one in eight residents still doesn't know where his or her next meal will come from. It’s worse among children: one in six experiences food insecurity. To help boost donations to local food banks during the holiday season, all of our Save Mart, Lucky and FoodMaxx stores will once again hold the annual Holiday Give. Share. CARE! Drive, making it easier for shoppers to donate. At check-out, customers can tear off a coupon and hand it to the cashier.
The Save Mart store at the Key West Shopping Center in Visalia teamed up with Momentum Broadcasting to hold a food drive from Sunday, November 19 to 21. All donations went directly to FoodLink of Tulare County. “What people don’t realize is one in three residents doesn’t know where their next meal is coming from,” said Sarah Ramirez, the food bank’s Executive Director.
